Day 3 of the Vans World Cup Called ONDec 01, 2017
Competition is back on after two days of pumping surf at the Vans World Cup, and Sunset Beach is continuing to deliver this morning for day 3 with the powerful NW swell decreasing slightly but still producing 10-12ft.+ surf with moderate offshore easterly winds.
"The powerful long range swell we had yesterday has dropped slightly overnight, but is still holding strong in the 10-12ft. range," said Marty Thomas, WSL Hawaii/Tahiti Nui Tour Manager and Vans Triple Crown Surfing Director . "Top seeds will hit the water today to take on yesterday's standouts in excellent conditions."
The competition begins at 8am HST with Round Three, with Heat 2 hitting the water first, which features Caio Ibelli (BRA), Ian Gouveia (BRA), Raoni Monteiro (BRA) and Maxime Huscenot (FRA).
Hawaii surfers Ezekiel Lau, Benji Brand, Keanu Asing, Logan Bediamol, Nathan Florence, Makai McNamara, Josh Moniz, and Sebastian Zietz will all surf in Round Three today.
