FLASH BACK: Colapinto’s Buzzer Beater

Nov 08, 2017

Sitting in third place with the clock ticking down in his Round Three heat, it seemed Griffin Colapinto's impressive run at the Hawaiian Pro was coming to a close. But with a few seconds left, Haleiwa granted him one more wave, and the Californian took full advantage.

The 18-year-old hucked his board above the lip of a mean closeout section, and spun his way to the best maneuver of the event. His near-perfect 9.93 on this wave rocketed him into first place, and through to Round Four.
