Swell/Surf Outlook For Pipe

The NW swell that peaked during the first half of the day today will trend down through the day on Thursday. Direction will shift more NNW and dominant swell period will be a little shorter than today (320-340+ at 13-15 seconds). Size will be roughly half of what we saw when the swell peaked this morning, but still good for overhead waves and occasional sets pushing double overhead in the morning. The swell direction and period will favor Backdoor vs Pipe.

Smaller leftovers from the NNW prevail Friday and Saturday.

Confidence is increasing that we’ll see a small bump of N swell on Sunday. This is not the ideal direction for Pipe, but some fun waves could show for Off-the-Wall and possibly a few at Backdoor in the head high range. Stay tuned.

WIND

Strong, gusty E/ENE trades are expected Thursday through the weekend (lightest in the mornings). We should see more showery weather for the end of the week and weekend as well.

Next Update: By Thursday evening, December 16th (if necessary)
