World Title Watch: Races Head to Hawaii

Oct 31, 2015

With the conclusion of the European leg of the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour, the crowning of the men's 2015 World Champion will once again be determined in Hawaii, the birthplace of surfing. Heading into the last elite events of the season, the Billabong Pipe Masters, a number of top surfers have emerged as contenders.

The top surfers with a shot at the Title on the Men's CT are Jeep Rankings leader Mick Fanning (AUS), (newly ranked) World No. 2 Filipe Toledo (BRA), World No. 3 Adriano de Souza (BRA), and No. 4, reigning World Champion Gabriel Medina (BRA). And though Julian Wilson (AUS) and Owen Wright (AUS) were eliminated in Round 2 of the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal, either could legitimately take it all in Hawaii.
